Making Connections
in Hartford
Community Network
Community change is a long-term process. Its success depends
on the will of the public. If the public believes that
positive change is possible and works collaboratively to
develop a cohesive and comprehensive set of results-based
strategies and actions, then change becomes inevitable. But
it takes a sizeable number of people from all sectors of the
community to become involved in and committed to working
together to advance the change process. This includes
residents, resident-serving provider organizations, public
and private funding organizations, and policymakers.
Individuals and organizations from each of these public
sectors now partner with the Making Connections in Hartford
change process. They participate in the following work
groups: Resident Leadership; Family Economic Success;
Children are Healthy and Prepared to Succeed in School; and
Authentic Demand. Together they comprise the Making
Connections Community Network.
We are continuously working to broaden and strengthen the
Community Network by reaching out to all individuals and
groups interested in adding their voices to the
community-wide effort of improving the well being of
vulnerable children and families in Hartford’s neighborhoods.
